Schmitt Invites Residents to Senior Scam Prevention Seminar
ALTOONA – To help educate senior citizens about scams targeting them, Rep. Lou Schmitt (R-Blair) is teaming up with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office to hold a Senior Scam Prevention Seminar later this month. The free event starts at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, at Graystone Court, 1101 Flamingo Drive, in Altoona.

“All too often scammers target senior citizens as victims and unfortunately bilk them out of their hard-earned money,” Schmitt said. “This seminar aims to help prevent seniors from becoming victims. I encourage area seniors, as well as their family and caregivers, to attend this free event.”

Topics to be covered include what to do if one becomes a victim of identity theft, tips on how to protect personal information online and in everyday interactions, and guidelines on how to spot scams intended to steal one’s identity.

Attendees are asked to RSVP in advance by calling Schmitt’s office at 814-946-7218, or go online to
