ALTOONA – Rep. Lou Schmitt (R-Blair) today announced that he is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house to mark the grand opening of his new district office in downtown Altoona. The office is located in the space formerly occupied by Rep. John McGinnis in Suite 104 of the Gables building at 1331 Twelfth Ave.
The open house is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 3-7 p.m. The ribbon cutting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
“Even though we’ve been at work now for several weeks, this event will make it official – the district office is open for business,” said Schmitt. “I encourage residents to stop by, say hello and learn what services we offer.”
Schmitt is also pleased to announce that the Hon. Sam Hayes will be the event’s keynote speaker. Hayes served as a state representative, including the position of House majority leader, and as Pennsylvania secretary of Agriculture.
